CHARANDRY

Summary:

As a final project, you will conduct research on the current business ethics topic –

Discuss in detail economics, ethics and the law surrounding the following:

Whistle blowing & Employment Law

Your final project paper is to be a minimum of 3 complete pages. You will be required to relate how various topics we have covered throughout the term apply in the chosen topic. In addition, you must research how the current ethics topic impacted changes within the business and industry practices. You must also include a reference page on top of the minimum three-page research paper and cite all sources properly using APA guidelines.

The purpose of the paper is to help you understand how ethical factors have shaped policies and procedures in business and industry – not only in the US, but even throughout the world. In addition, you should gain a better understanding of the seriousness and consequences of ethics in business.

When writing the final project, you must demonstrate a knowledge of how to conduct research, how to use a minimum of three (3) scholarly sources (e.g. GMC Library), how to properly cite sources using APA formatting guidelines, and how to apply critical thinking skills within the analysis and presentation of your research results. Textbooks are not considered a scholarly/peer reviewed source; however, they may still be included as a supplemental reference.

By the end of the course you should have gained knowledge in…

  • legal and ethical issues in business and industry.
  • how previous violations and practices have shaped current legal and business ethics policies and procedures.
  • how to recognize the global considerations relating to business ethics.

Be as thorough as possible when writing your essay, and remember, this is an academic essay, so no “text-talk,” no conversational tone, and ABOVE ALL OTHER THINGS… don’t plagiarize!! Lastly, spell-check and proofread your work! Failure to follow these steps will negatively impact your grade

For this course, you will submit the graded activity using Turnitin. An Originality Report will become available within a few minutes after your first submission. Inside the Originality Report will be a Similarity Index. The Similarity Index shows a percentage of the material in your paper which matches other sources found by Turnitin. You will be expected to have a Similarity Index of less than 20%. If your Similarity Index is greater than 20% you will need to review your Originality Report to be sure that you have paraphrased your work appropriately, and cited your sources correctly.

The Originality Report will help you to avoid plagiarism, and improve the quality and content of your essay. It is strongly suggested that you keep direct quotations to a minimum, and never copy and paste text without proper citations. You have until the activity due date to resubmit your work, however, there will be a 24 hour delay before the Originality Report becomes available. It is your responsibility to submit your activity on time, with a Similarity Index of less than 20%.

General APA Formatting Guidelines:

All papers are to have an APA title page and an APA reference page. The APA title page and APA reference page DO NOT count towards the minimum page/word count requirement! Your body of work needs to be a minimum of 3 complete pages (at least 750 words). Also, an APA abstract page is NOTrequired! Note that going over the minimum page/word count requirement is acceptable; however, I am not looking for a 6+ page paper!
