The first assignment in this course is to interview a fitness or fitness related business owner of your choice. Try to find a professional in the Health and Wellness industry. The person does not have to own a large business. A personal trainer who successfully contracts services would be acceptable. Please do not interview an employee. I must approve all interview candidates. You will be required to submit your potential interviewee to me in module 2.
Before the interview, design several interview questions based on your interests and the course and text content. Write out the questions before the interview. The interview should last at least 30 minutes. Following the interview, write a summary of your findings. The summary should be between 2 – 3 pages double spaced and should provide information on what made this person successful in his or her business, as well as any characteristics of the business that make it successful. Please steer away from questions like “why did you become a personal trainer”. Try to gear your questions to the business and business strategy. Add your thoughts and comments on the experience with the interview and how your findings influence your thoughts on running or starting a business.

Please also be sure to view the grading rubric for this assignment that I have posted in the doc sharing area of the course. The grading rubric lists exactly what is expected for this assignment and the points that are associated with each category.

3.) Brittany owns her own fitness facility with two other trainers. She focuses on HIIT, High-Intensity Interval Training, which is an efficient way to burn more fat in less time. When you work at high-intensity, you burn more total calories per pound of body weight while keeping your metabolism elevated throughout the day. Classes are unique using timed intervals and incorporate the use of resistance bands, dumbbells, TRX, medicine and stability balls and kettlebells. These workouts range from 25-30minutes with a 5 minute warm-up ending with an “afterburner”. The workouts will NEVER be the same so you’ll never know what to expect. It is an awesome way to become motivated and get in shape! Everyone is so welcoming and truly motivational.
